Dean Patterson has been a great friend of the Galway Cartoon Festival from the beginning, being there on our first opening night.
In the years since he grown in stature to become one of the most respected, and funniest, cartoonists in all of Ireland. His work appears in publications here and abroad, including Private Eye, the Spectator, The Critic, The Phoenix, The Idler and more. We would like to claim credit for this somehow.
Every year we like to feature a cartoonist who has made a notable contribution to the art in Ireland. We’ve been keeping Dean in reserve for long enough, now is his time to shine.
